AlphaDry One Piece Catheter

Description

The AlphaDry external condom catheter is made from natural latex. The condom portion secures the AlphaDry to the penis, while the one way valve keeps you dry and allows urine to flow directly into the reservoir portion of the catheter.  The reservoir holds up to 600ml or over 20 ounces.

The urine can then be conveniently emptied through the blue valve attached at the end of the unit.  The whole one piece catheter tucks neatly into a man’s brief type underwear. If properly cleaned each day, your AlphaDry condom catheter can last from 15 to 30 days.

What is a Condom Catheter

For extra capacity AlphaDry also comes with a flip valve that easily attaches to a bedside bag that holds up to 2000ml or over 65 ounces.

More Information

When is AlphaDry right for you?

  • When you don’t want to use an indwelling catheter
  • When you don’t want to wear a leg bag
  • If you wear a standard condom catheter but dislike adhesives.
  • When you dislike wearing diapers or absorbents
  • When you are experiencing skin breakdown
  • When you want to experience the freedom of an active lifestyle

What might prevent AlphaDry from working for you?

  • Do you have a latex allergy or sensitivity? AlphaDry is made from natural latex.

Features of AlphaDry sold by UroDry:

  • More Like Normal Living with One Piece Construction – The condom portion and the reservoir are connected with a one way valve. This allows the whole AlphaDry unit to tuck into brief type underwear. No need for leg bags and tubes.
  • No need for Adhesives – The AlphaDry is secured to the penis with a Velcro strap, or an optional system, placed just behind the head of the penis, instead of using adhesives.
  • Reusable – The AlphaDry can be washed with soap and warm water and reused for a recommended 15 days. It is best to have two AlphaDrys and alternate them daily, during each month.

Should I use other products with my new AlphaDry condom catheter?

Break Every 24 Hours – Because AlphaDry creates a seal between the latex and the penis, moisture may build up in the skin. To avoid skin irritation you’ll need to remove the AlphaDry for some period of time every 24 hours.  Some men require only 1 hour of air time each day, others may need more. During this time a disposable absorbent brief or underwear is an excellent option.

While Learning How to use AlphaDry – Because there is a learning curve to any new medical equipment it may be a good idea to wear a disposable absorbent brief or underwear as a backup in addition to the AlphaDry until you feel confident in using your AlphaDry.

When it is Especially Important to be Absolutely Dry – Accidents happen. Even the most experienced and proficient users of dryness systems (this includes standard condom catheters, disposable and reusable absorbents, clamps, etc.) can have accidents. Whether giving a lecture or attending your granddaughters wedding, when it’s imperative that you stay dry consider wearing absorbent underwear rather than regular underwear as a backup in addition to your AlphaDry to ensure dryness.

Learning Curve

Like any other durable medical equipment it may take a period of time to learn to use your AlphaDry condom catheter.  We have knowledgeable, friendly support staff to help you through every step of the process.  With your AlphaDry you will receive clear instructions for use.  Never hesitate to call.  We are here to help you succeed.

“You just get to where you learn to use this thing.”
